25,500 visitors, 90% capacity
The Altstadtherbst has come to the end of its 21st season - with approximately 25,500 visitors, more than 60 events that took place at 14 different locations and with an audience capacity of 90%.

Dazzling concert with magical effect
Appearing as if in an over dimensional display case, the Indian Shakespeare director Roysten Abel presents his 42 musicians from Rajasthan in an impressive stage construction. In each of the red velvet-lined cabins bordered with brightly lit bulbs sits a musician reminiscent of the famous Amsterdam red light district, that sets the seductive scene for a stunningly staged concert experience. Musically directed by a dancing conductor, a thrilling piece is woven between the singers, sitar players, flutists and drummers, climaxing to an ecstatic play of sound and light with a similar magnetism to that of a rock concert.
